Back to school means back to cooking for me. I don’t cook as much during the summer. But once the kids are back in school, I enjoy (well, enjoy might be a stretch ;)) getting back into a regular cooking routine. Cooking isn’t my favorite, but I enjoy having a dinner plan when the chaos of a school year is upon us. And I’ve become somewhat of a pro at making meals in about 20 minutes or so, thanks in part to two of my Friday Favorites!
1. Perdue Gluten-Free Chicken Tenders/Nuggets
It doesn’t even matter if you’re gluten-free, you will love these Perdue Gluten-Free Chicken Tenders. Just trust me. I’ve never had a frozen chicken tender that’s better than these. I like having what I refer to as “ready meat” on hand because starting any meal with already cooked meat (if you’re not vegan or vegetarian) is a gamechanger when it comes to making dinner in a pinch.
If you’ve been following my Instagram Stories, you’ve likely seen some of the different meal ideas I’ve shared recently using these frozen tenders. I’ve used them to make quick chicken parmesan, pesto chicken open-faced sandwiches, and chicken fried rice. They really are delicious and are so easy to add to salads, burrito bowls, etc.
If you’ve missed any of the quick chicken tender meal ideas I’ve shared recently, I’ll be creating a highlight for my Instagram bio very soon!
2. Crux Air Fryer
I’ve talked about my love for this air fryer many times before, but I absolutely can’t mention my favorite frozen chicken tenders without giving a shout-out to my Crux Air Fryer. You don’t have to use an air fryer to heat these tenders, but if you want restaurant-quality, then, yeah, you do. Honestly, this air fryer is legit the MVP of my kitchen. I use it almost as much as my coffee maker. And I drink coffee like a Gilmore, so that’s really saying something.
3. Only Murders in the Building
I haven’t been this in love with a set design since Mad Men. You all! I’m loving EVERYTHING about this new show on Hulu, from the incredible cast to the interiors. This is a MUST watch!
I mean, this photo of Steve Martin’s apartment doesn’t come close to doing the design justice. But can you even with these cabinets?! Seriously, set decorator Rich Murray knocked this out of the park! Go read this Architectural Digest article for a little background on the design, and if you haven’t already started watching this show, add it to your queue for the weekend!
4. SmartHER News
I’ve been following SmartHer News on Instagram for almost a year now, and it’s quickly become my favorite news source. Jenna Lee is the journalist behind the platform, and I’ve come to really appreciate her fact-driven, sans-commentary, unbiased reporting. I watch her Instagram Live reports almost daily.
If watching the news has left you feeling weary and anxious, you may want to check out SmartHer News. For me personally, it has been a breath of fresh air. At 42, I don’t want someone to tell me how to feel or how to think, I just want to hear the news, stay informed, and formulate my own opinion. I also don’t want to watch a one-hour news program that is filled with 15 minutes of actual news and 45 minutes of bickering and grandstanding.
Anyhow, I really like Jenna Lee’s approach to reporting and wanted to pass her Instagram and website along to any of you who may be interested.
5. Spanx Get Moving Skort
So I started taking golf lessons, which means I needed to look the part. And in the process of creating my golf wardrobe, I discovered these Spanx skorts. And I’m in love! They are so comfy, and in my humble opinion, so much more flattering than a pair of shorts. While I bought them specifically for golf, I plan to wear them for general running around town. If you’re looking for an alternative to shorts and leggings for errand running, this skort is perfect! I love it so much that I bought it in all 4 colors!
Okay, friends, that’s all I’ve got this week! Your turn. Tell me what you’ve been loving this week!
